Home Based Treatment

Teaching-Family Association Home-Based programs offer intensive, short-term interventions for children and families within the context of their home, school, and community environments.  Home-based treatment is family-centered, builds on existing family strengths, and develops a collegial partnership with parents.  It is characterized by the belief that children and families belong together and by a strong commitment to preserving, maintaining, and reunifying the family unit.  Family Specialists sensitively and respectfully use the treatment program components to improve family functioning, to meet the family's treatment goals, and to maintain positive changes over time.  Family Specialists help family members learn the skills necessary to meet their needs and determine the course of their own lives.  Parents are encouraged to develop effective, long-term supports in their community.  Teaching-Family Association Home-Based programs serve over 700 children and families annually

Foster Care Treatment

Teaching-Family Association Treatment Foster Care programs serve children, adolescents, and dependent adults in need of supportive, treatment-oriented family environments.  By blending the concepts of Treatment Foster Care with Teaching-Family Model technology, individuals of all ages with a wide variety of treatment needs can receive intensive treatment in normalized home settings in the community.  Programs are characterized by their commitment to marshal the resources, expertise, and support necessary to maintain each individual's placement and to assure continuing gains. Treatment Parents offer highly individualized care and treatment based on the specific needs of each person placed in their home.  Generalization of treatment gains is enhanced by the dynamics of this intensive community-based approach to treatment.  Treatment Parents are supported in a variety of ways including in-service training, support groups, respite care, and 24-hour consultation.  Teaching-Family Association Treatment Foster Care programs serve over 500 children, adolescents, and dependent adults annually.

Group Home Treatment

Teaching-Family Association Group Home programs offer community- or campus-based residential treatment for children, adolescents, or dependent adults.  Treatment, based on Teaching-Family technology, is carried out by a well-trained treatment team. The team, a married couple (Teaching-Parents/Family-Teachers) and at least one Associate Teaching-Parent, live in a family-style living environment and use precise intervention strategies to create daily opportunities for the teaching, learning, and generalization of a wide variety of skills in natural settings.  Teaching-Family Association Group Homes programs serve over 2,500 children, adolescents, and dependent adults annually.
