Summary:
Under the direction of the Program Consultant, the Lead Teaching Parent provides the day-to-day care and guidance of assigned youths in a residential care setting. The LTP lives in the home while on duty and while on-call (overnights). This position supervises all other direct care staff in the assigned Group Home.
Responsibilities:
Teaches youth a curriculum of skills in social, self-help, independent living, maintenance and academic areas and provides moral, spiritual and physical training and guidance to the youth assigned to their home.
Primary on-site contact with the community for the group home. Assists in the communication of the Home’s philosophy and programs to individuals and groups, agencies and the “community at large” within a service area. Provides or coordinates academic assistance to youths and works closely with the public-school system.
